Take Bezafibrate exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Take Bezafibrate together with food or immediately after a meal. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Bezafibrate must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking Bezafibrate even if there are signs of improvement. Do not stop taking Bezafibrate unless instructed by your doctor.

What should I take note of while using/taking this medicine?

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience muscle pain, weakness or tenderness especially if it is accompanied by fever or general body discomfort.

For as long as you are taking Bezafibrate, you will need to have regular blood tests to monitor your body's response to the medicine. Your doctor will advise you about how often you need to have these blood tests.

When should I not use this medicine?

Alert your doctor if you suffer from kidney, liver, bile duct or gall bladder disease.

Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not take Bezafibrate if you are pregnant. You should use adequate birth control several months before starting Bezafibrate as well as when undergoing treatment with Bezafibrate.

Do not breastfeed while being treated with Bezafibrate.

Are there any restrictions on the type of food I can take?

Avoid alcohol.

Why do I need this medicine?

Bezafibrate helps lower your cholesterol and triglyceride (fat) levels.

Excessive cholesterol and fat in your body can clog up your blood vessels. This can lead to many health problems such as strokes and heart disease, including heart attacks.

Bezafibrate is meant to be taken as part of a complete cholesterol management programme that should include exercise, a healthy diet and lifestyle.
