How do I take/use this medicine?
Take Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Take Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate with food. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not chew, crush or cut the tablet.
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate must be used for at least 4 weeks to treat your ulcer completely. Continue to take Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate without consulting your doctor.
What should I take note of while using/taking this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Alert your doctor if you have kidney or porphyria.
Let your doctor know if your gastric problem seems to be getting worse. Do not take Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate for a long period of time unless instructed by your doctor.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have kidney disease.

Why do I need this medicine?
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate is used to treat and prevent the recurrence of stomach ulcers.
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It also gets rid of a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori which often increases the risk of the stomach ulcers. This medicine also protects the stomach lining.
It is used in combination with other medicines.
What side effects could I experience?
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate may cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
It may also cause headache, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, skin itch. You may also notice a darkening of the tongue or stool. This is temporary and harmless.
Let your doctor know if these side effects bother you or if they do not go away.
Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate may cause other side effects. Consult your doctor if you have unusual problems while taking this medicine.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
Can I take/use this with other medicines?
Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
