SYNDOL - Fast relief from Tension Headache, for Migraine Pain, Easy to swallow tablets.
Syndol is formulated to bring fast effective relief from pain, especially the pain associated with tension headaches and migraines. Syndol contains paracetamol, codeine and caffeine to relieve head pain, and doxylamine succinate to relax muscular tension.
What are the active ingredients?
Each Syndol tablet contains Paracetamol BP 450mg, Codeine Phosphate BP 10mg, Doxylamine Succinate NF 5mg and Caffeine BP 30mg as the active ingredients.
Syndol also contains the following inactive ingredients (excipients): Corn Starch, Povidone, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Ac-Di-Sol, Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose (Methocel E15), Polyethylene Glycol 400, Quinoline Yellow Aluminium Lake (E104), Sunset Yellow Aluminium Lake (E110), Titanium Dioxide and Yellow FA4149.

Syndol is a yellow film coated caplet. It has 'Syndol' embossed on one side, and the other side is scored with a break line
Therapeutic Indications
Why take Syndol?
Paracetamol acts as an analgesic (pain killer) and antipyretic (lowers body temperature); Codeine Phosphate is an analgesic; Doxylamine Succinate is an antihistamine. Caffeine is a mild stimulant.
Syndol is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and as an antipyretic. It is recommended for the symptomatic relief of headache, including muscle-contraction or tension headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, dysmenorrhoea (period pain), muscular and rheumatic aches and pains and for pain relief following surgery or dental procedures.

Syndol tablets should not be taken continuously over prolonged periods in the maximum dose

Special Warnings
What has to be observed in road traffic, or whilst operating machines?
Syndol may cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drink.
Interactions
What other products influence the effect of Syndol tablets?
No other medicines are known to influence the effect of Syndol.
Use with caution in
Abnormal muscle weakness
Disease causing obstruction of the bowel (obstructive bowel disease)
Elderly people
Emergency condition caused by damage to one or more of the organs in the abdomen following injury or disease (acute abdomen)
Emotional instability / mental problems
Enlarged prostate gland
Gall stones
High blood pressure
History of convulsions, eg epilepsy
History of irregular heart beats (arrhythmias)
Hypothyroidism
Individuals with problems of drug abuse
Kidney disease
Lack of production of natural steroid hormones from the adrenal gland (adrenocortical insufficiency)
Liver disease

Instructions for proper use
These tablets should be taken orally and swallowed.
How many tablets should you take, and how often should you take them?
Please observe these instructions for use, or you will not fully benefit from Syndol.
Adults and children over 12 years: take one or two tablets every four or six hours as needed for relief.
Do not take more than eight tablets in a 24 hour period.
Special advice
What to do if you take too much product?
Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.
Do not take with any other paracetamol containing products

What undesirable effects might Syndol cause?
If you notice any unwanted effects not mentioned in this leaflet or you are unsure about the effect of this product, please inform your doctor or pharmacist
Drowsiness or dizziness may occur
Constipation may occur
Agranulocytosis (reduction or absence of granulocytes or polymorphonuclear leucocytes)
What should you do if you experience any of these side effects?
If you experience any of the side effects mentioned above, stop taking the tablets and see your pharmacist or doctor, who will advise you on the necessary action to take
