How do I take/use this medicine?
Use Ketotifen exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not use it more or less often than instructed by your doctor.
Do not touch the dropper tip with your fingers, eyelids or any other object. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before applying the eyedrops.
Ketotifen must be used exactly as directed for it to work well.
What should I take note of while using/taking this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have any other eye problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Alert your doctor if your eye condition does not improve or gets worse after using Ketotifen.
When should I not use this medicine?
Do not use Ketotifen to treat eye irritation caused by contact lenses.
Do not wear contact lenses if your eyes are red.
If you must wear contact lenses, make sure that your eyes are not red and wait at least 15 minutes after using Ketotifen before putting in your contact lenses.
Are there any restrictions on the type of food I can take?
Why do I need this medicine?
Ketotifen is used to treat symptoms caused by allergic conjunctivitis, such as itchiness, watery or swollen eyes.
What side effects could I experience?
Side effects with Ketotifen are not common and may include headache, runny nose and eye discomfort.
Ketotifen may cause your vision to be temporarily blurred. Do not drive if your vision is blurred.
Let your doctor know if there are any other side effects.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Throw away any remaining eyedrops 4 weeks after opening. Mark the date of opening on the eyedrop bottle so that you know when the bottle was opened.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
Can I take/use this with other medicines?
Alert your doctor if you are using any other eyedrops.
If you are using other eyedrops, wait at least 5 minutes before applying the next eyedrop. Do not apply different eyedrops at the same time.
Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
